ICTs for Farmers

A one day Awareness and Sensitization Programme on Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Farmers and Rural Youth was conducted at the office of the “Thaneswar Vivekananda Farmer’s Club” of Gopalpur Village in Cooch Behar District of West Bengal on 3rd December, 2016.

This awareness programme on ICTs was conceptualized and organised by the Post-Graduate students, Department of Agricultural Extension, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya with their own resources and efforts to make the farmers and rural youth aware of various ICTs information platforms available through internet. In this initiative Dr. Kausik Pradhan, Head of the Department and an eminent extension scientist has given his valuable time in guiding the students in making this programme successful.

Rural youth of this village were found to be interested towards these ICT tools in accessing agricultural information and took active participation by browsing these websites and installing these apps form Google play store.
